Ascent without music

As you head back up to the surface in the main facility, some very loud music starts up just as you're approaching some Jackals. It's so loud that you can barely hear the sound of enemy movements, a tactical disadvantage that annoys the heck out of me. However, if you simply wait for about six minutes, the music ends and you can ascend in peace - a pleasant novelty.

If you want to create a handy save for playing a music-free ascent over and over, here's what to do. As you approach those Jackals, you'll be due a checkpoint, but by continually jumping (just keep the jump button down if you like) you can delay it. When the music ends, stop jumping and you should get the checkpoint. Save. If you want more enemies than usual, bypass some of the enemies you'd normally kill on your way down, so you can tackle them on the ascent instead.
