BCM691 - Cubby-hole Grunt, swim attacking

(6:55) Level 5 ('Assault on the Control Room') on Heroic. Something I've been doing with a 'swimming' cubby-hole Grunt is applying a lot of explosive force. As you'll see in these examples with a particular set-up where I happened to have quite a few needlers handy, it's possible to make him go wonky and get lower, and partly vanish into the scenery. Maybe he could even be forced through entirely? Check out some of my efforts!

Commentary

00:02 (Play 1) If you're wondering about all those needlers at the start, actually I didn't need to do a whole lot of new work for those. I only needed to modify an existing set-up I had, in which there were 13 spare needlers positioned around the room. That was namely the set-up used in part of BCM688, which was derived from a set-up I created for extensive needling fun; see BCM502. All those needlers together do make a impressive sight though, and they enabled me to make a joke at the start.

As for the play, which exclusively uses needles and plasmas (not counting the frag I accidentally threw), it's rather self-explanatory so I won't say much. But as you can see, his 'swimming' eventually stops. I believe he timed out (see last movie). Just for the record, he was going for about 4:15.

By the way, at the start, I used the new melee method shown in the previous movie.

04:02 (Play 2) This time I include some rocketing near the start. Figured I better make some use of those in the movie, since they were part of my weapon stash. That gets him down low and also wonky, and then I switch to needles and plasmas, which takes him further. Ultimately he gets well into the floor, but my needles aren't shifting him. There were actually still some more plasmas I could've gone for, and maybe they could've made a difference, but I was focused on the needling.

I'm not sure if his animation ended due to my needling or because he timed out. If it was a time-out, it was an unusually early one (based on my experience so far), because he was only going for about 3:46.

Incidentally, at 5:57 I've edited out a bit of my needling (where things weren't changing), to keep the movie length down.

05:57 (Final snippet) This is just a bit from another play, mostly to end the movie with a bit of a bang. Some good deep rumbling here!

Closing remarks Just to mention, you could do lots of needling with just a single needler, by using drop reloading. It's less convenient than having spare needlers though. And since I had a set-up with plenty around, that's what I went with. Really didn't need that many, but at the time I created this set-up, I hadn't realized that the swimming timing out. It was actually because of doing this attacking work that I did realize there was a time-out thing to contend with.
