Stacker's been itching to get that chain-gun going, and now's his chance!

(7:18) Level 2 ('Halo') on Heroic. Here are three rockslide megabattles using the flexible new set-up seen created in the previous movie. Three different weapon combos are used, and for the final battle I use an alternative side-seat guy, though he doesn't fare terribly well!

00:02 (Play 1 - Far area defence, with plasma rifle & needler) Thought I'd start off with a far area defence. Did some good work here I reckon, with a lot of explosions and moving around, and with most of my grenade throws paying off. Both of my Marines survive. Best of all though, the battle ends with a bit of comedy when a Grunt makes a rather questionable plasma throw.

03:01 (Play 2 - Plateau base defence, with pistol & needler) For me, the selling point of this particular plateau base defence is the chain reaction set off by my frag throw around 3:43. Quite spectacular! Stacker gets a nice workout on the chain-gun, and both my Marines survive.

04:35 (Play 3 - Plateau side defence, with AR & plasma pistol) This is only the second time I've shown a plateau side defence. I gave the Aussie a rest and brought my alternate armoured Marine in on the seat, but unfortunately he doesn't last long, falling to an early plasma grenade which overturns the hog. With the loss of my chain-gun support I have to work extra hard after that. Stacker eventually falls and I briefly retreat to the plateau, but Johnson helps turn the tide with a well-placed frag.

Incidentally, in my set-up work I'd made sure to get the best central rock on the plateau. Featured briefly in this play, it's nice and low, easy to clamber up on. I'd also made sure that the survivor sergeant was Johnson, because I didn't want to end up with two Stackers. As it turned out, the Johnson I got was actually armoured, a pleasing bonus.
