BCM663 - Auto-diving Marines, synchronized diving
(5:19) Level 5 ('Assault on the Control Room') on Heroic. Continuing with my auto-diving Marines, I now pursue the question of getting Marines synchronized in their diving. Throughout, I'm using the 3-Marine set-up featured in final part of BCM662.

00:02 (Getting my AR guys in sync) Here I try to get my two AR guys in sync. After getting one guy diving, I shoot the other off his perch as the first guy is doing a grunt. It's not fully successful though, as they're not quite in sync, but I'm able to fix it with a spot of disruptive shooting. Normally I'd use my plasma rifle for shooting, but this time I just used the pistol - and promptly missed three shots before getting a hit!
01:54 (Clips from other plays) Now here are six clips from other plays. The long one at 2:12 focuses on watching for consecutive matching dive directions. There's initially a sequence of three, then there's one of five, then there's one of ten, the longest I've counted. Incidentally, in the earlier 0:58 and 1:14 clips, there were sequences of five and six respectively.
The 2:59 clip shows two guys at the hog's front left. I wanted to include that location for variety, but it was a pain getting them there. One guy had to be forced over to that side, and then I'd quickly get the other one off his perch and hope they'd both get into the desired corner. But that rarely happened, and even when it did, I only had a small chance of crowding them fast enough to keep them there. Also, even when I did get them seemingly boxed in, it wasn't as secure as on the other side. Just after this clip ends, things started to break up in fact, with one guy moving rightwards to the tree trunk. Didn't realize I had a hole there!
In regard to the 2:03 clip under the hog's rear left, that situation actually came out of one of my tries of the type just mentioned. There's something quite unusual about it. See the guy wedged in between the Shade and a Ghost? Guys would often get wedged in there, if they were over on that side of the hog at all, but they'd be facing outwards. This guy was facing inwards. I think this was the only time I got that configuration.
03:33 (Getting the Aussie in visual sync) After having explained in the last few of those clips that the Aussie can't be synchronized vocally due to his different grunting rate from the AR guys, I get him in sync visually at least. At 4:40 there are two short clips from another play, featuring other configurations. Late additions, just when I thought I had the movie finished! Then it's back to the original play for the finale, where one of the AR guys escapes and ruins the dynamic.
Note: from about 4:07 when I'd got control of things, I see from my bobbling pistol that I must've had the motion joystick forward slightly (in my crouched posture). There was no need for that; guess I didn't notice at the time, and it was something of a left-over from when I was waiting to get things fully contained (so the nearest guy would roll on the spot).
Closing remarks I suspect this is going to be my last instalment for now, but at some time in the future, maybe I'll try to set up another suspended hog in a situation where I have more Marines available, which could result in another movie or two.
