BCM651 - Rockslide megabattle, another three plays

(8:32) Level 2 ('Halo') on Heroic. In this final dose of rockslide megabattling using the set-up seen created in BCM648, there's an excellent and sneaky new battle plan included. And as bonus novelties, watch out for a Marine doing a balancing act, plus a grunty mountaineer!

Commentary

00:02 (Play 1 - Island plateau defence) After a nice drive threading through various gaps, we reach the island plateau for some fun. It's pistol work and grenades all the way for me, and things go quite nicely. At one point a red Elite gets onto the Marine plateau and starts attacking the survivors there, but he's taken down pretty fast.

02:28 (Play 2 - Plateau base rocks defence) Here's an enjoyable new battle plan I came up with for the movie. On the way there I deliberately splatter the dropship 4 Elite, so that I'll later get an intercom message in confirmation for killing everyone else. I'm hoping that they'll all attack; and indeed they do.

Something else deliberate: I park the hog to block off one side of our hold-out area, and do it in such a way that the dismounted gunner gets bumped up onto the chain-gun. Just for entertainment value. Initially in my playing for this slot, it had happened by chance; but in later plays I got used to making it happen.

05:04 (Play 3 - Hit and run) For the final play I drive in solo for some dynamic hit and run action. Action featuring a grunty mountaineer, as it turns out! That little novelty was one of the reasons I selected this play, from among others I did.

Closing remarks Okay, I think that concludes my string of example battles for the new set-up. Ten solid battles plus a splatter-fest which came to a premature end. A pretty good showing I'd say.
