Lifeboat corner defence

To the right hand side of the lifeboat there's a large flat corner area of the battlefield, which I call the 'lifeboat corner'. The plan is to base your defence there. The initial attack is likely to be rather intense, and for that reason you may well want the support of a chain-gunner. Once you get past that phase though, you can start to advance somewhat, to attack covies that seem reticent about closing in. That'll probably be a whole horde of Grunts and Jackals, for the most part.
NB: you should make sure to get some restricted covies freed of their territorial restrictions. The ones I'm thinking of are namely the dropship 4 Jackals, who initially head off towards the other end of the battlefield. If they're not freed, they'll be distant during your battle - if they initially get clear of you that is. In my movie BCM655 containing my first showing of this battle plan, I deliberately detoured through the dropship trigger zone to do the desired freeing.
The dropship 4 Elite (or Elites) won't be turning up at the corner, but it can be fairly easy to take him down from distance with needles or a pistol at some point, such as seen in the aforementioned movie. You could also use a sniper rifle picked up at the lifeboat.
Late introduction
It's odd that I'm introducing this battle plan so late, namely in 2026, because it's really quite an obvious idea. Maybe I tried it out before and didn't have much luck with it, but I can't remember. When I gave the idea a go while doing plays of the set-up seen created in BCM653 however, I had an excellent time with it.
With that particular set-up, dropship 4 was still on the scene, and its troops added to the early pressure me and the boys were under. Perhaps that's a good sort of set-up to have for this plan.
On top of the lifeboat rock
Near the lifeboat is a large rock - the 'lifeboat rock' - which is sometimes climbable. For details on it, see the lifeboat area defence plan. You might like to clamber up there for a bit of shooting at some point, once the more hectic phase of the battle is over. There's good fun to be had up there with a pistol especially. Come to think of it, going up there with a pistol and sniper rifle might make an enjoyable way of finishing off!
